The museum is located adjacent to the Santa Monica Public Library at
1350 7th Street.
From the 10 Freeway (Santa Monica) take the Lincoln Boulevard exit and turn right onto Lincoln Blvd. Continue to Santa Monica Boulevard and turn left. Make a right on 7th Street. The museum is on your left across from the Fire Station.

A public parking garage is available on 7th Street next to the museum.

Accessibility
Drop-off
The most convenient location to drop off a guest who may have limited mobility is on 7th Street, directly in front of our museum. There is ramp access leading directly to our front door.
Parking
Accessible parking is available in the underground parking. Entrance is on the West side of 7th Street. There are several spots available on each level. Take the elevator to ground level and head East to 7th street, where the ramp is available to our front door.

All our restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

To ensure the health and safety for you, all of our visitors, and our staff and volunteers, new enhanced health and safety protocols are implemented throughout our museum.
Per the city of Santa Monica guidelines and L.A. County Department of Public Health, we have implemented the following:
- All visitors over age 2 and staff to wear a mask while inside the Museum
- Reduced capacity to allow for safe social distancing among visitors and staff
- Ensure 6 feet of space between you, your group, and others
- Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the building and at all gallery entries and exits
- Interactive surfaces are wiped frequently
- Non-field trip groups will be limited to a maximum of 10 people
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. We cannot guarantee you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit. Those visiting the SMHM do so at their own risk of such exposure.
If you are not feeling well, check the CDC website for coronavirus symptoms and we recommend that you wait to come visit us when you are feeling better. We will be here when you are!
